About MenuCalories
An independent nutrition reference for the chains you actually sit down to eat at.
MenuCalories is a free, ad-supported reference for nutrition information at casual dining chain restaurants in the United States. We focus specifically on the sit-down chains — places like Olive Garden, Applebee's, Chili's, Outback Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, The Cheesecake Factory and Red Lobster — where the menus are large, the portions are generous, and reliable nutrition information can be hard to track down at the table.
The site exists for one simple reason: people genuinely want to know what they are eating, and the information is often buried inside oversized PDFs on corporate websites that nobody actually reads. Our job is to surface that information in a clean, browsable, fast-loading format that loads on a phone in a parking lot before you walk in.
What we cover
Every restaurant page on MenuCalories includes calorie counts, total and saturated fat, total carbohydrates, fiber, sugar, protein, sodium and a flag for the most common allergens (dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish). Where the source data includes ingredient lists, we publish those too. Where it does not, we say so plainly. Each item page also includes a comparison against similar dishes at competing chains, an estimate of how the dish fits a 2,000-calorie reference day, and a list of lighter alternatives in the same section of the same chain's menu.
We do not cover fast food drive-thrus, coffee chains, fast-casual concepts, or convenience-store food. There are already excellent free resources for those categories. We focus on table-service chains because nobody else does it consistently.
How it's funded
MenuCalories is supported entirely by display advertising. We do not accept payment, gifts, free meals, or any other consideration from the restaurants we cover, and we have no commercial relationships with any of them. We are not affiliated with any restaurant brand mentioned on this site. Trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here for the purposes of editorial reference and consumer information.
Editorial principles
- Numbers are sourced from publicly accessible chain disclosures, never invented or estimated.
- When numbers conflict between sources, we publish the most recent value and note the source.
- We do not make medical claims. We are not nutritionists or dietitians. Talk to your doctor about specific dietary needs.
- Menus change. Restaurants reformulate. Calories shift. We update on a rolling basis but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy.
